With the new nether update, you now have a reasonable way to make a hanging ladder in Minecraft!-----. There are a few things you can use instead of a ladder in Minecraft. Without it, you have nothing. you can make all sorts of stuff on anything so long as it has a solid 1*1 square (trapdoors, glass, bottoms and sides of composters etc).
